First proposed by Stefanie Rennick in 1984 as part of the Victorian 150th anniversary celebrations, the 28km Trail traverses a diverse range of landscapes for which the Mornington Peninsula is famous.

The run offers two distances: 28km from Dromana to Cape Schanck and 56km from Cape Schanck to Dromana and back to Cape Schanck for ultra-runners. The event starts at 7am for 28km runners and 7:10am for 56km runners, with wave start allowance.

The Two Bays Trail Run is set to take place on Saturday, 25th May 2024, on Magnetic Island, just a short ferry ride from Townsville. Participants can choose from 6km, 12km, or 21km courses that offer stunning views and challenging terrains.
